The V Plus Empowerment Project (VPEP) May 2025 to April 2026
Started in May 2025, managed by the team at Gulu Disabled Persons Union (GDPU). This new project developed from the previous VPlusPlus programme (see below) and the feedback during reflection meetings: the training and awareness sessions for beneficiaries and wider community stakeholders.

The new VPEP programme is delivered by GDPU project officers and the Peer Mentors from the scheme developed in the previous project.
Viva Wer Waa
The Viva@GDPU (started July 2023) music for change programme changed it’s name to Viva Wer Waa (“our song” in Luo) in August 2025. The change reflects increased ambition and scope as it began the third year of operation.

An exciting and innovative project, with enormous potential, it could grow in so many different ways. Unlike traditional skills based projects, the subject of the training – music – comes directly from those being trained.
Still sponsored by Viva La Visa – a UK based specialist visa company for the entertainment industry.

1: The use of music, music related activities and music production as an aid to vocational learning. To be delivered to the vocational trainees at GDPU on skills and ‘Plus’ element courses delivered by GDPU themselves.
2: Music, music related activities and music production as a standalone vocational skills course.
